Remembering

November is an important month here at the Farmhouse. Aside from three family birthdays and managing the consequential calorie overload from multiple birthday cakes, as a military family (retired), we also solemnly observe Remembrance Day each November 11th.

This year marks the centennial of the Armistice -- the treaty that ended World War I. My husband's grandmother had two brothers serve in that war for Canada. One did not come back and the other suffered for many years from the after effects of a gas attack. Since that War to end all wars, Canadians have answered the call on several occasions, both in wartime and in peacetime. The most recent engagement was in Afghanistan, where my husband served his fifth and final overseas tour before retiring in 2010. Since then, the desire to serve others forged a path for Chris and, at the age of 53, he joined our local fire department where he continues to serve as a firefighter with specialized vehicle extrication training. I am very proud of him and his service to our country.

We live in a world full of conflict. I hope that wherever you are this November 11th, you will pause and give thanks to the men and women who have offered their very lives to enable us to live in peace.

Christmas/Holiday Orders

From the Strawberry Creek Farmhouse Soap studio, we have prepared a number of Christmas and Holiday products and packaged them for you to gift to your loved ones this year. We sincerely hope that you enjoy these selections, and to make it more cost effective, we have continued our $10 CAD flat rate shipping feature for packages anywhere in Canada and the U.S. We also drop-ship so that you won't have to worry about re-sending a parcel!

A few details on how we are organized to ensure every order arrives on time. We have confirmed that our carrier's deadlines for holiday shipping are December 10th for U.S. bound packages, and December 11th for Canadian bound packages. We will take orders for Christmas and Hanukkah (and other holidays in December!) up until November 21st. We will be batching our shipping activities to occur on three dates: November 20th, November 30th, and December 8th. This will allow us to manage our product inventory and ensure that we can meet your requests. I will send a message as soon as your order ships so that you know when to expect it to arrive.

If you have any special requests or concerns, please do not hesitate to email, call, or text!

Take care,

Shelley
